Unlike the blogger depicted here, outside of a few close friends and my daughters, no one has asked me why I stopped...blogging that is. But the truth is that some place between testing out some of these new technologies and now, I've discovered that I've assimilated a lot of the information.
The realization came one evening at a networking event when I was directed to be "sure to speak with the social guru" on deck. In the process of making his acquaintance, I understood not only what he was talking about but also what he was missing. In that moment I realized the value of my social media studies and the bonus I get from having a long, varied experience in traditional marketing.
The gist of this is I'm not "socially challenged" any more. My brand identity has changed. As a result, I'm re-formulating my positioning statement and testing out the parameters of my own new found social media competencies (more on that in future posts).
But you didn't come here to read about my metamorphosis. You're curious about what happens when you stop blogging? Here's what I found, based on my data from Google Analytics.

- Huge decrease in organic traffic from search engines
